LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has taken strict notice of alleged financial irregularities in the Khanewal beautification plan. She has directed that the former Deputy Commissioner of Khanewal be included in the investigation over advance payments made to the contractor.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the Chief Minister has also ordered the immediate arrest of the contractor and the recovery of funds. The contractor responsible for the beautification project of Akbar Bazaar, Khanewal, allegedly fled after receiving advance payment. The project has also faced undue delays in its completion.
