China Advocates for Diplomatic Resolution to Kashmir Conflict

Beijing: Reaffirming its stance on the Kashmir dispute, China has called for a peaceful resolution through diplomatic efforts, in line with the United Nations Charter and relevant Security Council resolutions.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the Chinese Foreign Ministry’s Spokesperson’s Office emphasized the historical complexity of the Kashmir issue during a press briefing on Monday. “Kashmir issue is a dispute left over from history and should be properly resolved through peaceful means in accordance with the UN Charter, relevant Security Council resolutions and bilateral agreements,” stated the spokesperson.

The call comes in response to recent unilateral actions by India in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), which have attempted to alter the status and demographics of the region over the past five years. China has expressed concerns that such moves could exacerbate tensions and urged all parties to refrain from actions that could escalate the situation further.
