Chief Minister Punjab Praises Armed Forces on Defence Day, Highlights National Unity


LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Defence Day paid tribute to the officers and soldiers of the armed forces, particularly martyrs and veterans, highlighting their sacrifices for the nation’s defence. She emphasized the importance of national unity in overcoming challenges and maintaining security.



According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the chief minister expressed pride in the Pakistan Army, Air Force, and Navy, noting that they had set new standards of professionalism in Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad. The entire nation, she stated, prays for the safety of officers and soldiers engaged in the fight against terrorism. She affirmed that the armed forces have demonstrated that wars are won with faith and conviction, not just with weapons.



Maryam Nawaz Sharif highlighted that Pakistan’s defense is now “invincible,” with the country being more confident than ever as a nuclear power. She paid tribute to the soldiers guarding the nation’s frontiers, describing them as a source of pride. The chief minister assured that the people stand united with the armed forces and will continue to support them.



She also addressed the challenges facing Pakistan, stressing the need for national unity and solidarity. The chief minister called for thwarting the “nefarious designs” of forces aiming to create instability, emphasizing the need for resolve and determination.
