Islamabad: Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, has called for enhanced cooperation between Pakistan and South Korea in biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and healthcare innovation. In a meeting with a high-level South Korean delegation, the Chairman emphasized the importance of joint ventures and research collaboration to bolster bilateral ties.

According to Senate of Pakistan, the meeting saw the participation of Mr. Cho, CEO of KOA-Bio, along with representatives from KOA Corporation, Scale Sniper, and other leading South Korean companies. Chairman Gilani highlighted Pakistan’s expanding research and innovation ecosystem and extended an invitation to South Korean firms to explore opportunities in technology transfer, medical device manufacturing, and AI-driven healthcare solutions.

The discussions also focused on the role of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) in promoting strategic investments through its single-window mechanism. Chairman Gilani underscored the potential of parliamentary diplomacy and collaboration among academia, researchers, and the private sector in strengthening bilateral cooperation. The South Korean delegation expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s investment prospects and scientific capabilities, showing a keen interest in expanding collaboration in the specified sectors.
