Asif Ali Zardari Secures Presidency in Pakistan’s Electoral Victory


Islamabad, In a decisive electoral outcome, Asif Ali Zardari has been elected as the President of Pakistan, securing a substantial majority of votes across the National Assembly, the Senate, and Provincial Assemblies. The results were officially documented in Form VII, released by the Election Commission of Pakistan.



According to Election Commission of Pakistan, the detailed results from the form reveal that Mr. Zardari won a total of 716 valid votes, while his competitor, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, received 319 valid votes. The National Assembly granted Zardari a strong lead with 255 votes to Achakzai’s 119. In the Senate, Zardari continued his lead with 246 votes compared to 100 for Achakzai. Provincial Assemblies votes echoed this trend, solidifying Zardari’s victory. The electoral process saw a total of 1044 votes polled with 9 votes invalidated.



This election marks a significant turn in Pakistan’s political landscape, with Zardari becoming the 14th President of the nation. The Election Commission’s data substantiates the clear mandate given to Zardari by the electoral colleges, setting the stage for his leadership amidst Pakistan’s evolving political dynamics.
