Army Chief Lauds Security Forces’ Efforts in Counter-Terrorism Operations in Peshawar


Peshawar: General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff, visited Peshawar to receive a briefing on the security situation and ongoing counter-terrorism operations against Fitna Al Khwarij. The briefing was also attended by the Federal Minister of Interior and Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.



According to a statement by Inter Services Public Relations, the Army Chief praised the resolve and sacrifices of Pakistan’s Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies in their efforts to dismantle terrorist networks. He noted the achievements in degrading the operational capabilities of terrorist organizations within and beyond Pakistan’s borders.



The general emphasized the role of law enforcement agencies in ensuring citizens’ safety, highlighting their success in foiling attacks and maintaining peace. He stated that any attempts to disturb national peace would be met with decisive force.



General Munir also interacted with political leaders from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, who agreed on the need for unified public support against terrorism. The participants expressed their support for the Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies in the nation’s fight against extremism.



Upon arrival in Peshawar, the Army Chief was received by the Corps Commander Peshawar.
