APHC-AJK Convener Calls for UN Attention to Indian Atrocities in IIOJK

Islamabad, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, the Convener of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, has appealed to the United Nations and international human rights organizations to address the ongoing Indian atrocities in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Saghar, in his statement issued in Islamabad, expressed grave concern over the continuous acts of genocide committed by Indian forces in the region, aiming to alter the demographic composition of the Muslim-majority territory. He emphasized that India’s brutal tactics cannot change the internationally recognized disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir. Saghar urged the Indian government to cease its oppressive policies in Kashmir and respect the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.

Saghar also highlighted the increasing pressure on Hurriyat activists, citing the reopening of old false cases against them as a means to intimidate and suppress their voices. He stressed the urgent need for global intervention to halt India’s state terrorism in IIOJK and to resolve the prolonged Kashmir conflict in line with United Nations resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
