Karachi, The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has accused the Narendra Modi-led Indian government, backed by the RSS, of misleading the international community about the situation in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. This accusation comes in the wake of India’s unilateral and illegal actions on August 5, 2019, which, AS per the APHC, have worsened the region’s already volatile situation.
According to Kashmir Media Service, that an APHC spokesperson, in a statement issued in Srinagar, criticized the Modi regime for intensifying efforts to brutalize Kashmiris and colonize the region since the controversial move on August 5. Despite these actions, the spokesperson asserted that India’s militaristic approach would not dampen the Kashmiris’ resolve for freedom.
The APHC spokesperson paid homage to the martyrs of Kashmir, including recent victims of custodial killings in Poonch. He emphasized that their sacrifices would not be forgotten and prayed for the swift recovery of those injured due to torture by Indian troops in custody.
The statement also called on the United Nations to take notice of the ongoing state terrorism in occupied Kashmir. The APHC urged the UN to pressurize New Delhi into conducting a plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir, allowing the Kashmiris to determine their political future independently.
This statement from the APHC reflects the continuing tensions and struggles in the region, highlighting the discrepancies between the Indian government’s narratives and the realities experienced by the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
