Karachi, The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has issued a strong condemnation of India’s alleged human rights violations in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). The APHC asserts that India is blatantly violating international laws and using oppressive tactics against the Kashmiri population.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the APHC spokesman, in a statement from Srinagar, criticized India’s use of black laws for the extrajudicial killing, arrest, and summoning of individuals to army camps, police stations, and investigation agency offices in the region. The statement also accused India of propagating a false narrative of peace in IIOJK to mask its alleged crimes against humanity.
The spokesman denounced the international community’s silence on India’s revocation of Kashmir’s special status, which the APHC views as a flagrant violation of international laws. Additionally, the Hindutva BJP regime’s issuance of domicile to non-Kashmiris, including Indian troops, is seen as a move to strip the people of Jammu and Kashmir of their rights guaranteed under the UN Charter.
APHC leader and Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Social Peace Forum, Advocate Divender Singh Behal, in Jammu, highlighted the systematic human rights violations by Indian occupation forces. He described the Kashmir valley as an open-air prison, alleging that the Indian government has saffronized all government institutions, especially security forces.
Behal also accused the Indian corporate media of distorting the reality of Kashmir, branding every extrajudicially killed Kashmiri as a terrorist, and misleading the outside world with false narratives of peace and development. He claimed that local media is barred from reporting the actual situation on the ground, keeping outsiders unaware of the true events.
The Jammu and Kashmir Awami Party, in a separate statement, strongly condemned the killing of three civilians in custody by the Indian army in Poonch district. The party asserted that New Delhi, frustrated by the resistance of pro-freedom activists, has resorted to targeting innocent Kashmiris.
These statements from various Kashmiri leaders and organizations reflect deep-seated grievances and accusations of human rights abuses in IIOJK, intensifying the call for international attention and intervention in the region.
