AJK President Meets APHC Delegation to Discuss IIOJK Situation


Islamabad: A delegation from the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC-AJK) Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter met with the President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry, to discuss the current situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).



According to Kashmir Media Service, the delegation, led by Convenor APHC AJK Ghulam Muhammad Sufi, met with Barrister Sultan at Kashmir House, Islamabad. Barrister Sultan assured the delegation that the people of Azad Kashmir stand firmly beside their counterparts in IIOJK in their struggle for freedom. He emphasized that the freedom movement would persist until IIOJK is liberated from Indian occupation.



The AJK President stated that all political parties in Azad Jammu and Kashmir are united on the Kashmir dispute and expressed hope for unity among Pakistan’s government and political parties on the issue. He highlighted the introduction of ‘Kashmir Studies’ as a mandatory subject in all universities of AJK and encouraged students to use social media to draw attention to the situation in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.



Barrister Sultan urged the international community to intervene and help the Kashmiri people achieve self-determination, condemning India’s human rights violations in the region since August 5, 2019. He noted that India is persecuting minorities within Kashmir and across its borders.



Convenor Ghulam Muhammad Sufi commended President Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry’s efforts in raising the Kashmir issue internationally, affirming their continued advocacy for a resolution to the Kashmir issue and the Kashmiri people’s rights.



The delegation included various leaders, and President Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry’s advisors were also present during the meeting.
