Islamabad: Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has paid tribute to the martyrs and veterans of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) on Pakistan Air Force Day, highlighting the force’s historical contributions to the nation’s defense. He emphasized the PAF’s role in protecting Pakistan’s airspace and national security, reflecting on its professional record as a significant chapter in the country’s history.

According to Press Information Department, Mr. Gilani acknowledged the PAF’s trust earned through professionalism, discipline, and commitment. Reflecting on the 1965 war, he expressed admiration for the courage and skill demonstrated by PAF personnel, which continues to inspire. He also recognized the PAF’s crucial roles in Marka-e-Haq and Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, noting their readiness and professional capability in safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty.

Mr. Gilani affirmed the nation’s solidarity with its armed forces in protecting the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He extended prayers for the elevation of the martyrs, the safety of veterans, and the success of PAF officers and personnel.
