Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed profound grief over the death of Constable Mubashir Shaheed, who was killed by protesters. In a statement, he extended condolences to the family of the deceased officer and pledged full support for the injured police personnel.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister has ordered an immediate investigation to identify and prosecute those involved in the incident. He emphasized the need for providing top medical care to the police officials who were injured due to stone-pelting and violence during the protests.
Highlighting the role of law enforcement, Sharif stated that attacks on police under the guise of peaceful protests are unacceptable. He referenced the riots on May 9, noting that similar acts of violence are being repeated. The Prime Minister underscored the impact of the incident on the family of the 46-year-old constable and reiterated the commitment to national peace and progress.
He also paid tribute to Constable Mubashir, condemning the actions of those he described as adversaries of the country’s development. Sharif called for unity and vigilance to prevent such disruptions in the future.
