Srinagar: Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam, the Grand Mufti of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), has issued a stern condemnation of a semi-nude fashion show held in Gulmarg, calling it a grave violation of Islamic values. The event, held at the renowned tourist destination, has prompted calls for legal action against its organizers.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam, in an interview with a local media outlet, demanded immediate legal proceedings against those responsible for the controversial event. He criticized the participation of semi-nude men and women on the fashion ramp as wholly unacceptable, asserting that it contravenes the region’s traditions and religious principles.
The Grand Mufti labeled the event a ‘deplorable and heinous act,’ criticizing it for clashing with Islamic values. He emphasized the heightened sensitivity of such displays during the holy month of Ramadan, interpreting them as an affront to the dignity of Islam and a cultural assault on Kashmiri traditions.
Expressing his deep concern, Nasir-ul-Islam urged local authorities to implement rigorous measures to prevent similar events in the future. He stressed the importance of safeguarding the cultural and religious identity of IIOJK, urging a cessation of activities that undermine the territory’s heritage.
