Karachi, August 04, 2023 (PPI-OT): Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab has said that all necessary measures will be taken for the welfare of the employees of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the revenue targets given in the budget should be achieved in any case to stabilize the institution financially, how long will the KMC be run on Sindh Govt’s money, the officers must resolve to put KMC on its feet and forget the past and work for a better future. He said this while talking to a 10-member delegation of the All Sindh Officers Welfare Association, KMC, MQM Pakistan. The delegation headed by its in charge Abdul Qayyum Khan called on him in his office on Thursday.

On this occasion Deputy Mayor Karachi Salman Abdullah Murad, Parliamentary Leader of People’s Party in City Council Najmi Alam, General Secretary of People’s Party in Central District Dil Muhammad, Mayor Karachi Spokesperson for Political Affairs Karamullah Waqasi and others were also present. The delegation discussed with Mayor Karachi regarding promotion matters of the officers and other employees of KMC and the DPC and said that the 35% increase in the recent budget should be applied to the salaries of the employees so that they could handle the increasing inflation.

Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that the welfare of the employees and solving their problems is the first priority, but the officers should achieve the revenue targets given in the budget of KMC. Last year, the recovery rate was disappointing compared to the set target, but this year the officers who failed to meet the target in the budget will have to face the action against them, he said that we all have a responsibility to ensure our role in increasing the revenue for the organization and fulfill duties effectively, the heads of all departments related to the recovery of revenue fulfill the expectations and ensure the timely achievement of revenue targets by enabling their subordinates.

At the same time, Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab issued orders that according to the law, the promotion process or DPC should be started immediately for the officers and other employees. Najmi Alam said that the revenue targets set for the current year in the budget will be checked every two months and the officers who disappoint in this regard will also face disappointment from us. All Sindh Officers Welfare Association KMC, MQM Pakistan Delegation Members Incharge Abdul Qayyum, Joint Incharge Faseeh Ahmed Malik, Muhammad Ahmed Chandna, Liaison Secretary Muhammad Kamran, Finance Secretary Shams Masoodi, Committee Members Naveed Khan, Akmal Dar, Meraj. Khan, Mazhar Rafiq, Nadeem Humayun and others assured Mayor Karachi that they are with him in the steps taken for the betterment of KMC.
