Islamabad: World Day Against Trafficking in Persons is being observed today to raise awareness about the plight of human trafficking victims and to promote and protect their rights. The observance aims to draw global attention to the challenges faced by victims and the need for concerted efforts to combat trafficking.
According to Radio Pakistan, the theme for this year’s observance, “Trapped Behind the Scam,” highlights the increasing threat of human trafficking linked to online scam operations run by transnational organized crime groups. This theme sheds light on the evolving nature of trafficking, emphasizing the need for international cooperation to address these sophisticated criminal networks.
