ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing facilities for overseas Pakistanis, stating that it remains a top priority. Chairing a session in Islamabad, he discussed the ongoing improvements in consular services by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting highlighted the introduction of a QR code-based system designed to streamline processes for overseas Pakistanis. This system aims to simplify procedures related to the Power of Attorney, property transactions, and document attestation. The Prime Minister endorsed the digitization of the complaints registration system via QR codes and instructed that these codes be prominently displayed in Pakistani embassies to improve accessibility.

Additionally, the Prime Minister called for an awareness campaign to educate overseas Pakistanis about the new complaints registration system. The goal is to maximize its utilization by the overseas community. The meeting also noted the implementation of an evening shift at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad to better serve people’s needs. Document attestation services have been added at the Asaan Khidmat Centre in Islamabad, alongside a courier-based attestation service. The Ministry has also integrated its system with several national databases to expedite the attestation process.
