World Bank Commends Pakistan on Economic Stabilization Measures

Islamabad, 12 Oct 2023:The Vice President of the World Bank for South Asia, Martin Raiser, has lauded the Government of Pakistan for its steps towards economic stabilization, during a meeting with Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, the Caretaker Federal Minister for Finance, Revenue, and Economic Affairs, held on the sidelines of the Annual Meetings of the World Bank and IMF in Marrakesh, as per a press release from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MOIB).

According to the press release on social media Platform X by the Ministry of Finance, Dr. Akhtar communicated appreciation for the World Bank’s support in post-flood rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts within Pakistan. Dr. Akhtar emphasized the need for ongoing support from the World Bank and highlighted the criticality of sustained cooperation in future endeavours, targeting the continual strengthening of Pakistan’s economy. The discourse between Dr. Akhtar and Martin Raiser indicates a mutual commitment to fortifying the economic revival and stability of Pakistan, with a particular focus on collaborative projects and financial cooperation.
