ISLAMABAD: A significant breakthrough in the fight against vehicle theft was achieved by the Islamabad Police Anti Vehicle Lifting Unit (AVLU), which arrested a wanted member of a notorious car lifter gang and recovered a stolen vehicle.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the arrest comes as part of a broader effort to crack down on criminal activities following directives from Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. The intensified focus on eliminating crime from the city led the AVLU police team to utilize both technical and human resources in their operations, resulting in the successful apprehension of the suspect.
The accused, identified as Muhammad Yaqoob, has had a case registered against him, and further investigations are in progress. Authorities have encouraged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to their local police station or through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15,” emphasizing the critical role of community cooperation in reducing crime.
