Lucerne: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has emphasized that the ongoing US-Iran technical-level talks, conducted under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, present a significant chance to advance global peace. Speaking in Lucerne, Switzerland, ahead of the discussions, Sharif expressed optimism about the potential of the summit to yield positive and tangible outcomes, fostering peace and development worldwide.
According to Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Sharif acknowledged the efforts of the United States, Iran, and Qatar in facilitating the continuation of the negotiation process. He particularly praised Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for his dedication and persistence throughout the proceedings.
During the event, US Vice President J D Vance articulated a vision of collaborative efforts for peace and prosperity. He stated that President Trump had authorized the US delegation to work towards resolving various issues, such as reopening the Strait of Hormuz. Vance also commended Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, acknowledging his critical role and leadership, noting frequent communication with the Field Marshal over the past three months.
