UK Urged to Mediate in Kashmir and Palestine Disputes

Islamabad: The Chairman of the Board of Governors of the NGO Institute of Peace and Development (INSPAD), Dr. Khurshid Ahmed Chaudhry, called on the United Kingdom to facilitate peaceful resolutions to the longstanding Kashmir and Palestine conflicts. Dr. Chaudhry, a respected scholar and social figure, emphasized the need for international intervention during discussions with INSPAD President Dr. Muhammad Tahir Tabassum and Secretary General Ms. Kishwar Aqeel.

According to a statement by Kashmir Media Service, Dr. Chaudhry expressed concern over the detention of Kashmiri leaders in Indian jails under allegedly fabricated charges, which he stated contravenes international laws. He advocated for the immediate and unconditional release of these leaders, citing deteriorating health conditions due to insufficient nutrition in prisons.

Dr. Chaudhry also acknowledged the recent Gaza-Israel ceasefire as a positive development but stressed that its proper implementation is crucial for achieving lasting peace in the Middle East.

In his remarks, Dr. Chaudhry lauded the efforts of the INSPAD President and his team, highlighting the success of the Global Peace and Religious Harmony Conference held at the British House of Commons. He noted that the event, attended by members of Parliament and numerous community leaders, set a benchmark for future initiatives.

Dr. Tahir Tabassum provided an overview of INSPAD’s ongoing activities and outlined upcoming programs, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to promoting peace and harmony globally.
