ISLAMABAD: A United States congressional delegation, led by Representatives Ryan Zinke and Michael Baumgartner, met with National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in Islamabad to discuss bilateral relations and parliamentary cooperation. The meeting highlighted the importance both nations place on their longstanding partnership, emphasizing mutual respect, trust, and shared interests. Chargé d’Affaires Natalie A. Baker was also in attendance.

According to National Assembly of Pakistan, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq underscored the role of parliamentary diplomacy in enhancing bilateral relations. He advocated for increased parliamentary exchanges and cooperation between the legislatures of Pakistan and the United States, emphasizing their potential to strengthen ties. The Speaker also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace and stability in the region, stressing the importance of diplomatic solutions.

The U.S. delegates expressed gratitude for the reception and acknowledged Pakistan’s constructive role during recent regional tensions, particularly its contributions to promoting peace and stability amid the Iran-U.S. conflict.
