Islamabad: In a move to curb criminal activities in the federal capital, the Islamabad Police have arrested two members of a notorious bike lifter gang and recovered six stolen motorcycles along with weapons and ammunition. The operation is part of an ongoing effort by law enforcement agencies to tackle the rising incidents of vehicle theft.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the arrests were made by the Sihala police team following directives from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. The operation is a part of broader initiatives targeting criminal elements, including those involved in bike theft.
During the initial investigation, the apprehended individuals confessed to multiple instances of bike theft. Muhammad Jawad Tariq, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Islamabad, emphasized the police’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and properties of citizens. He assured that rigorous actions will be taken against those who engage in criminal activities.
The DIG also called upon the public to cooperate with law enforcement by reporting suspicious activities or items to their nearest police station or through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15.”
