Islamabad Police Arrests 17 Accused, Seizes Drugs and Weapons


ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have arrested 17 individuals suspected of involvement in criminal activities, recovering drugs and weapons from their possession. This development comes as part of an intensified crackdown to maintain peace in the federal capital.



According to Islamabad Capital Police, 14 suspects were apprehended in connection with various criminal offenses. The police confiscated 1,230 grams of hashish, 1,325 grams of heroin, four daggers, and seven pistols with ammunition. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the accused, and investigations are underway. In addition, a targeted campaign aimed at capturing proclaimed offenders and absconders resulted in the arrest of three more individuals.



The arrests come under the directives of Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, as part of ongoing efforts to combat crime and ensure stability in the region. SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza emphasized the police’s commitment to safeguarding citizens’ lives and properties, stating that maintaining public peace is a priority.



Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activity to local police or through the “Pucar-15” emergency helpline, promoting collaboration between law enforcement and the community to reduce crime.
