Two Civilians Killed in Baramulla by Indian Troops Amidst Military Operation


Srinagar: In a recent surge of violence in the Baramulla district of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, two local civilians were killed by Indian troops. The incident occurred during a military response following an attack on an army vehicle.



According to Kashmir Media Service, the two civilians, identified as Mushtaq Ahmad of Nowshera and Zahoor Ahmad Mir of Boniyar, were employed as porters for the Indian army. They were caught in indiscriminate firing initiated by the troops in the aftermath of the attack, which also resulted in the deaths of two Indian soldiers and injuries to at least three others. The confrontation took place in the Gulmarg area of the district earlier this evening.



Following the incident, the Indian army has initiated a comprehensive cordon and search operation in the region, heightening tensions and security measures.
