Turkish and Pakistani Officials Discuss Military Cooperation in Islamabad


ISLAMABAD: General Levent Ergün, Vice Chief of the Turkish General Staff, met with Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Defence, to discuss enhancing military cooperation between the two nations. The meeting emphasized the importance of strengthening defence ties and expanding collaborative efforts in various military sectors.



According to Press Information Department, the Defence Minister extended a warm welcome to the Turkish official, expressing Pakistan’s commitment to deepening its strategic partnership with Türkiye. Both parties acknowledged the growing collaboration in defence and training and highlighted their aligned views on regional and global affairs.



General Ergün conveyed his appreciation for the hospitality received and reiterated Türkiye’s interest in bolstering the bilateral defence relationship. Both officials expressed satisfaction with the current state of relations and committed to maintaining high-level engagements and coordination.
