Islamabad: The 20th Round of the Pakistan-Türkiye High Level Military Dialogue Group (HLMDG) was recently convened at the Ministry of Defence in Rawalpindi, bringing together senior military officials from both nations to discuss key issues of mutual interest. The meeting was co-chaired by Lieutenant General Muhammad Ali, Retired, Secretary Defence of Pakistan, and General Levent Ergün, Vice Chief of the Turkish General Staff.
According to Press Information Department, the discussions during the dialogue focused on regional security, defence and military cooperation, and collaboration within the defence industry. The two countries also explored training, capacity-building initiatives, and prospects for enhancing their strategic partnership. The HLMDG included sessions by the Politico-Military Working Group and the Defence Industry Working Group, which reviewed progress on current agenda items and sought new areas for cooperation.
At the conclusion of the dialogue, the Co-Chairs emphasized their commitment to strengthening the longstanding relations and defence partnership between Pakistan and Türkiye. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the outcomes of this round and reiterated their resolve to maintain regular engagements to deepen bilateral defence cooperation.
