Turkish Ambassador and Pakistan’s Youth Program Chairman Pledge to Strengthen Ties

Islamabad: The Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan, H.E. Irfan Neziroglu, met with Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, to explore potential avenues for cooperation focused on youth initiatives between Türkiye and Pakistan.

The meeting highlighted the strong relationship between the two countries, focusing on opportunities for student exchanges and academic collaborations. Ambassador Neziroglu pointed out the potential for Turkish students to study at renowned Pakistani universities and expressed his appreciation for Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to Türkiye following a recent earthquake, viewing it as a symbol of solidarity.

In a key development, Chairman Rana Mashhood announced that Pakistan would provide fully funded scholarships to Turkish students, aiming to strengthen academic ties. He also invited Turkish participation in the National Youth Council of Pakistan, seeking to empower youth through shared expertise.

The discussions extended to media and sports collaborations, with enthusiasm from both sides for joint projects that would enhance cultural connections. Ambassador Neziroglu concluded the meeting by stating, “This is not a diplomatic relation. We are brothers,” reflecting the deep bond between the nations.

Chairman Rana Mashhood reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing relations with Türkiye, emphasizing that these initiatives could unlock opportunities for youth and reinforce the historic ties between the countries.
