Islamabad: Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) currently in training at the National Police Academy made an informative visit to the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Security Office of the Islamabad Police. The visit included an in-depth briefing on the security system, the range of responsibilities, and the operational functions within the federal capital.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, DIG Security Islamabad, Rana Umar Farooq, provided the trainee officers with an overview of the Security Division’s primary roles and responsibilities. The briefing covered security measures for Very Very Important Persons (VVIPs) and Very Important Persons (VIPs), as well as security planning, risk assessment, and protection of critical installations and sensitive locations.

The DIG Security emphasized that a comprehensive and coordinated approach is implemented to safeguard important figures, foreign delegations, diplomatic missions, and other critical infrastructures in the federal capital. He pointed out that modern techniques, professional expertise, and effective coordination are crucial in addressing the evolving security challenges.

During the visit, the trainee ASPs received information on security duty planning, command and control mechanisms, coordination with relevant institutions, and procedures for emergency response. The visit aimed to provide the trainee officers with practical knowledge and professional exposure to enhance their effectiveness in future policing and security management roles.
