Tragic Road Accidents Claim Five Lives in Jammu and Kashmir

Jammu, Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir – In a series of unfortunate incidents, five people, including two minor girls, lost their lives in three separate road accidents in the region.

According to the Kashmir Media Service, the first accident occurred on the Jammu-Pathankot highway at Lakhanpur, where Surjeet Kumar (40) and his 11-year-old daughter Sonali were tragically killed. They were riding a motorcycle, returning to their village from Pathankot, when a truck bound for Jammu collided with them.

In a separate incident near Sadq-e-Check on the same highway, a woman and her granddaughter became victims of a hit-and-run accident involving an unidentified motorcycle. The granddaughter, seven-year-old Sameera, died at the scene, while her grandmother, Santosh (50), later succumbed to her injuries at a hospital.

Additionally, a collision between two private cars at Garnai near Tikri along the Jammu-Srinagar highway in Udhampur district resulted in the death of another woman. This accident also left seven other individuals injured.

These accidents highlight the ongoing concerns about road safety and the need for enhanced measures to prevent such tragic occurrences in the region.
