Srinagar, June 13, 2023 (PPI-OT): Indian police have booked three persons under draconian law, the Public Safety Act on the charge of being involved in pro-freedom activities, which India in negation of the fact describes as ‘anti-India activities’ in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. A police official said that three persons identified as Mohammed Ashraf Mir, Mohammed Yaseen Butt and Wasid Ashraf Sofi have been booked under the Public Safety Act.
“The trio was booked after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority,” the official added. The booked persons have been lodged in Udhampur District Jail, Kotbhalwal Jail and Kathua District Jail respectively. Pertinently Public Safety Act is among the list of the laws that remained unchanged in Jammu Kashmir, the UN-designated disputed territory, following the removal of Article 370 in August 2019 when most of the local laws were either removed or changed.
