ISLAMABAD: Tech Valley Pakistan, in partnership with the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, has launched an AI-powered Canva for Education training program aimed at digitally empowering school heads and IT teachers under the Federal Directorate of Education. The initiative seeks to integrate modern, AI-enhanced design tools into classrooms across Islamabad’s public school system, fostering digital creativity and enhancing teaching methodologies.
According to Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, the training program, which runs from May 11 to 14, follows a Letter of Understanding signed earlier this year between Tech Valley Pakistan and the ministry. The event was chaired by Ms. Wajiha Qamar, Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training, marking a significant step in providing federal education institutions in Islamabad with free access to Canva for Education. This access includes Canva’s premium creative features and advanced AI suite, equipping students and educators with tools aligned with global standards.
“Our commitment to the FDE Quality Education and Innovation Roadmap is rooted in providing future-ready tools,” Ms. Qamar stated. “By integrating Canva for Education into our federal schools, we are transforming how knowledge is shared and understood.”
The training initiative emphasizes Canva’s Magic Studio suite, offering hands-on experience for educators to revolutionize classroom workflows. It aims to transform educators into future-ready leaders skilled in 21st-century methodologies. Through this program, teachers are empowered to transition students from passive tech users to active creators, preparing them for an AI-shaped future.
Tech Valley plays a crucial role in facilitating this nationwide initiative, including the “Canva Champion Program,” which trains and certifies selected educators as master trainers. This model ensures digital skills and AI proficiencies remain embedded within institutions beyond the initial sessions.
“Our team is on a mission to help FDE School Heads and IT Teachers utilize modern tools in classrooms,” said Yasir Khan, Director of Deployments and PD at Tech Valley. “Canva for Education blends AI and design seamlessly, providing a canvas for creativity and practical teaching.”
The partnership aligns with the FDE Quality Education and Innovation Roadmap, demonstrating a shared commitment between the government and tech leaders to empower educators and students with sustainable and innovative digital tools, ultimately preparing them for the modern global economy.
