Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah Elected as Deputy Speaker of the 16th National Assembly in Islamabad


Islamabad, In a significant political development, Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah has been sworn in as the Deputy Speaker of the 16th National Assembly, marking a new phase in the assembly’s leadership structure.



According to National Assembly of Pakistan, the oath of office was administered by Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, who recently took up his own post. In the election for the Deputy Speaker position, Shah achieved a decisive victory with 197 votes, outpacing his opponent Junaid Akbar, who received 92 votes. The total votes cast in this election were 290.



This election outcome not only reflects Shah’s strong standing within the National Assembly but also sets expectations for his role in supporting the Speaker in managing the assembly’s legislative agenda.
