Suthra Punjab Authority Reviews Anti-Smog Measures, Considers Body Cams for Field Officers


Lahore: The Suthra Punjab Authority convened its sixth meeting at the Darbar Hall of the Civil Secretariat, chaired by Minister for Local Government Zeeshan Rafique. The meeting focused on enhancing anti-smog measures and reviewed the potential implementation of body cameras for Field Monitoring Officers. Key officials, including Secretary Local Government Zaid Bin Maqsood and DG Suthra Punjab Authority Umer Javed, participated in the discussions, while divisional commissioners joined via video link.



According to the Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the discussions emphasized the importance of enforcing decisions from a recent meeting led by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. The Minister for Local Government highlighted the necessity of adhering to the Environment Department’s guidelines as the smog season approaches. He also warned of strict actions against those violating cleanliness protocols, such as blowing dust or burning garbage on roads.



The meeting also saw authority members commend the geomapping initiative at the union council level and called for its further enhancement.
