ISLAMABAD: A group of students from the Capital University of Science and Technology (CUST) visited the Operations Division of Islamabad Police as part of the Friends of Police Programme, following directives from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. The initiative was designed to acquaint students with the operational framework of the police, including various functions and strategies implemented to maintain public safety and security.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the students were briefed by SDPO Margalla Circle Nausherwan Ahsan Minhas on the operational system’s core mechanisms and effectiveness. The delegation learned about the Operations Division’s role in law enforcement, crime prevention, and ensuring a responsive policing system.

The visit also included a tour of the offices of SSP Operations Islamabad and Margalla Police Station. Here, students were informed about the procedures involved in police work, such as investigations, community policing, and the management of checkpoints at the city’s entry and exit points.

The students were shown how police patrolling contributes to crime prevention and monitoring of suspicious activities. They were briefed on the importance of checkpoints for verifying individuals and vehicles, thus enhancing citizen safety.

Furthermore, the delegation was introduced to the use of modern technology in policing operations. The students expressed their appreciation for the insights into the modern policing system and the professional methods employed by Islamabad Police.

The participants described the visit as both informative and beneficial, acknowledging the importance of such initiatives in fostering better understanding and collaboration between young citizens and law enforcement agencies.
