MANILA: Sri Lanka has commended Pakistan’s efforts in fostering dialogue and peace in the region, as highlighted during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath. The two officials met on the sidelines of the ASEAN Regional Forum in Manila, where they reiterated the strong ties between their nations and explored avenues for further cooperation in various sectors.

According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting underscored the positive trajectory of bilateral relations, emphasizing the enhancement of trade, economic connectivity, defense collaboration, and cultural exchanges. Both ministers noted the increasing momentum in institutional engagements and economic partnerships, celebrating recent achievements such as the successful visit of the Pakistan cricket team to Sri Lanka.

The discussions also focused on the significance of maintaining high-level interactions to bolster the bilateral relationship. During their exchange on regional and global issues, the Sri Lankan Foreign Minister recognized Pakistan’s constructive contributions towards promoting dialogue and securing peace.
