Islamabad: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has paid tribute to the martyrs of Jammu on the anniversary of Youm-e-Shuhada-e-Jammu, emphasizing the historical significance of the tragic events of November 6, 1947. He urged the international community to address ongoing human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
According to National Assembly of Pakistan, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq highlighted the massacre carried out by Dogra forces, extremist elements of the RSS, and armed groups in 1947, which resulted in the deaths of thousands of Muslims and the displacement of hundreds of thousands. He underscored that these sacrifices are an integral part of the Kashmiri people’s ongoing struggle for freedom.
The Speaker criticized India’s actions on August 5, 2019, which sought to revoke the special status of IIOJK, as attempts to change the region’s demographic composition. He called for urgent global intervention to ensure the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination, in line with United Nations Security Council resolutions.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting the Kashmiri cause politically, diplomatically, and morally. He concluded by praying for the martyrs of Jammu and expressing solidarity with the people of IIOJK, urging the global community to contribute to a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute for regional stability.
