ISLAMABAD: H.E. Han Sungho, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Pakistan, met with the Chief Justice of Pakistan at the Supreme Court to discuss judicial cooperation and digital integration efforts. The meeting was also attended by Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb and officials from Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to Press Information Department, the Chief Justice welcomed Ambassador Han Sungho and referenced the 20th Conference of Chief Justices of Asia and the Pacific in Seoul. At the conference, Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb engaged with Justice Noh Gyeong Pil of South Korea on topics such as judicial administration and digital transformation.

The discussions highlighted the potential for collaboration between the two nations in judicial automation, drawing on South Korea’s experience in technology-enabled court administration. Both parties explored a proposed Memorandum of Understanding aimed at formalizing cooperation, which is expected to be signed during an upcoming visit by the Chief Justice of Pakistan to Seoul. The MoU is anticipated to facilitate mutual learning and exchange of experiences, particularly in areas of judicial automation and technology-enabled justice delivery.

Ambassador Han Sungho expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s judicial reforms and voiced support for enhancing judicial ties between the two countries. The meeting concluded on a positive note with the exchange of souvenirs.
