Islamabad: A meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Disposal of Legislative Cases, chaired by Federal Minister for Law & Justice Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, reviewed significant legal and administrative matters, leading to the approval of key legislative amendments. Senior officials from various ministries, departments, and divisions were in attendance.

According to Press Information Department, the committee approved proposed amendments to the FIA Act, 1974, the Pakistan Penal Code, 1860, and the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898, with the condition of incorporating necessary amendments and recommendations. Additionally, changes to the Civil Servants Act, 1973, were approved, pending similar adjustments.

The committee deferred consideration of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (Amendment) Bill, 2026, while also approving amendments to the Immigration Rules, 1979. A proposal to increase penalties for overloading under the National Highways Safety Ordinance, 2000, was withdrawn during the session.
