Sindh Governor Highlights Pakistan’s Role in UN Peacekeeping on United Nations Day

Karachi: On the 79th United Nations Day, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesori emphasized the importance of the United Nations in fostering sustainable peace and called for greater collaboration to tackle global challenges. He praised Pakistan’s longstanding and significant contributions to UN peacekeeping missions and expressed concern over the insufficient recognition of Pakistan’s sacrifices in global counter-terrorism efforts.

According to Sindh Governor House, Governor Tesori highlighted the extensive costs Pakistan has incurred, including the loss of thousands of lives and billions of dollars, in its role as a front-runner in the global war on terrorism. He stressed that the United Nations has a fundamental duty to support the resolution of conflicts and protect human rights worldwide. The Governor also pointed out ongoing human rights violations in regions like Occupied Kashmir, Palestine, and Lebanon, underscoring these as critical challenges for the international community and questioning the fulfillment of promises made by the UN Security Council to the people of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
