Karachi, Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tesori commemorated the rich tradition of Urdu poetry and language at the International Mushaira held at the Sindh Governor’s Arts Council. He welcomed poets from around the world to the event.
According to Sindh Governor House, Governor Tesori acknowledged Mushairas as crucial for promoting Urdu and reflected on its long history, mentioning luminaries like Mir Taqi Mir, Khwaja Mir Dard, Mirza Ghalib, and others who have enriched the language. He noted Urdu’s key role in Pakistan and its historical significance in the subcontinent. Tesori expressed concern over division within society and stressed the need for unity and communal harmony. He emphasized his commitment to taking steps for the welfare of the people.
