Karachi, At a report launching ceremony organized by the Pakistan Institute of Labor Education and Research, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesori proposed the idea of holding elections annually instead of every five years, emphasizing the need for rulers to remain accountable to the people.
According to Sindh Governor House, the event, attended by caretaker provincial information minister Syed Ahmed Shah, Secretary Labor Shariq Ahmed, labor leader Habib Junaidi, and media representatives, was a platform for Governor Tesori to express his views on various issues. He critiqued the lack of substantial outcomes from decades-long research in the country, suggesting a shift in focus to surveys of those with authority and property both in Pakistan and abroad.
Governor Tesori also discussed his efforts in facilitating health insurance for the people of Sindh. He mentioned his hard work in advancing a health insurance scheme that would enable individuals to receive up to 10 lakh rupees worth of treatment in reputable hospitals. This initiative, he stated, is just a signature away from the Chief Minister of Sindh’s approval. He highlighted his commitment to this cause, having already arranged for the annual provision of 10 billion rupees to State Life for health insurance.
The Governor criticized the current leadership for offering nothing but deceit, contrasting this with his efforts to use his moral authority for the betterment of the people. He opened the doors of the Governor’s House to the public, mentioning that 1.4 lakh people have visited and 3 lakh people have received free rations from there in the past 15 months.
The event concluded with Governor Tesori announcing that 10 individuals would be selected through a draw to go for Umrah, underlining his dedication to serving the people of Sindh.
