KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah convened a meeting with senior officials to review the progress of crucial development projects across the province, as per a government spokesperson. The meeting, held at the CM House, included high-level participation from ministers and department heads.

Among the projects discussed was the Coastal Highway scheme, where the Chief Minister stressed the need for accelerated progress. The 36-kilometre highway, still in its preliminary phase, is jointly funded by federal and provincial governments. The Chief Minister highlighted its significance for traffic facilitation and coastal protection.

In Karachi’s SITE Industrial Estate, a Rs. 5 billion road construction project is underway. With Rs. 500 million already released, the Chief Minister urged the completion of the project within the new fiscal year, ensuring better infrastructure for the industrial area.

The reconstruction of 1,800 flood-damaged schools, funded equally by Sindh and the federal government, was also on the agenda. With a Rs. 12 billion allocation, the Chief Minister called for the immediate release of funds to kickstart the rebuilding process.

A major road project linking Rohri to the Guddu Barrage via the M-5 Interchange, spanning 150 kilometres, is estimated at Rs. 18.8 billion. The Chief Minister directed the release of Rs. 5 billion for this year to advance the project.

The dualization of the Tando Allahyar to Tando Adam road, with a project cost of Rs. 9.2 billion, was also reviewed. The Chief Minister allocated Rs. 1 billion for this fiscal year, emphasizing the swift release of funds to begin construction.

Murad Ali Shah underscored the importance of these projects in enhancing infrastructure and connectivity, aiming for timely completion to benefit public welfare across Sindh.
