Lakki Marwat: Seven police officers were killed and several others injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) attack by the group Fitna-al-Khwarij in the Bettani area of Lakki Marwat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The victims, all from the Lakki Marwat district, include prominent local officers such as SHO Police Station Shadi Khel Inspector Sadar Azam and six constables.
According to Radio Pakistan, security sources reported that the officers were targeted while performing their duties. The attack underscores the ongoing threat posed by Fitna-al-Khwarij, a group described by security sources as having no affiliation with the religion of Islam and being an adversary of humanity.
The incident draws attention to the Pakistan Army’s ongoing Operation Ghazab lil-Haq in Afghanistan, which aims to dismantle the hideouts and support networks of Fitna-al-Khwarij. Security sources state that the operation is effectively addressing the threat posed by the group.
