Seven Arrested in Crackdown on Hospital Thefts in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have apprehended seven individuals allegedly involved in thefts targeting hospital attendants, as part of an intensified effort to combat criminal activities across the city. According to Islamabad Capital Police, the arrests were made following a series of operations by police teams from Karachi Company, Golra, Bani Gala, and Bhara Kahu police stations. The individuals, identified as Ehtesham Aziz, Arshad Rehmat, Sardar Shah, Sauban Ahmad, Saad Faizan Shah, Muhammad Zubair, and Hazrat Ali, were found in possession of five valuable mobile phones, four stolen motorcycles, and weapons.

During the preliminary investigation, the suspects confessed to committing multiple robberies and thefts, including the theft of mobile phones, cash, and other valuables from patient attendants within hospital premises. Cases have been registered against the accused, and further investigations are underway, with police expecting additional revelations.

DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq commended the police teams for their successful operations and reiterated the force’s commitment to protecting citizens’ lives and property. He emphasized that the crackdown on criminal groups in Islamabad will continue vigorously, with all available resources being utilized to maintain law and order in the federal capital.
