KARACHI: Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance and Revenue, delivered a significant donation of medical and surgical supplies, patient beds, and other essential equipment to Jinnah Hospital, Karachi, during a ceremony on Monday. The donation was made in collaboration with PEI and is aimed at enhancing healthcare services in the region.

According to Senate of Pakistan, Senator Mandviwalla emphasized the ongoing challenges faced by the health and education sectors. He highlighted his initiative of adopting 50 schools to improve their functionality, which is nearing completion. He also noted his recent visit to Lyari Hospital, where he observed effective service delivery and patient satisfaction.

Senator Mandviwalla described the donation as part of a broader effort to alleviate poverty and strengthen healthcare delivery, with plans to extend similar initiatives to Balochistan. He stressed the importance of aligning donations with institutional needs and ensuring their effective use for public benefit, asserting that such efforts reflect public service rather than political interests.

He called for collective efforts towards national progress, urging constructive contributions over criticism of institutions. Transparency and accountability in the utilization of the donated equipment were assured, with hospitals remaining responsible for their administrative operations.

The Director of PEI echoed the importance of the initiative, calling it timely and essential for promoting public welfare, especially in underserved and vulnerable areas.
