Hyderabad: Senator Amir Waliuddin Chishti, Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, participated as the Chief Guest at the 59th Convocation of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) in Hyderabad, where he congratulated over 150 newly qualified medical specialists.

According to Senate of Pakistan, Senator Chishti emphasized the significance of CPSP as a leading institution for postgraduate medical education in the country. He praised its role in maintaining high professional standards and transparent evaluation processes. The Senator commended the leadership of CPSP, including President Prof. Mohammad Shoaib Shafi and Senior Vice President Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal, for their efforts in enhancing the international recognition of Pakistani medical qualifications in regions such as the United Kingdom, Ireland, and the Middle East.

As the Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee, Senator Chishti reaffirmed the Committee’s support for CPSP and its mission to advance medical education and healthcare infrastructure. He highlighted the Committee’s commitment to addressing challenges in medical education and healthcare, assisting with policy interventions, and fostering an environment conducive to the institution’s goals.

The Senator acknowledged CPSP’s contributions to improving healthcare delivery in Pakistan, particularly in bringing specialist medical services closer to the population. He extended congratulations to the graduating Fellows and Members, along with their families and faculty, for their achievements.

In his address, Senator Chishti urged the new specialists to fulfill their roles with empathy and integrity, recognizing the medical profession as a noble service to humanity. He expressed confidence in the positive impact that these specialists would have on healthcare outcomes across Pakistan.
