Islamabad: Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, in a message for Mother’s Day, emphasized the vital role mothers play in both family and societal structures. He described a mother as a blessing and a symbol of love and sacrifice, underscoring her importance in fostering a civilized and strong society.

According to Press Information Department, Gilani noted that Mother’s Day is observed globally to honor mothers and their invaluable contributions. He highlighted that a mother’s love is selfless and pure, serving as a fundamental strength for humanity. He also mentioned that a mother’s lap is the first place of learning, where one receives lessons in love, morality, and humanity.

Gilani remarked on the high status mothers hold in Pakistani society, as reinforced by religious and social values that stress respect and care for parents. He urged that honoring mothers should extend beyond a single day, becoming a consistent practice in daily life.
