SECP Reports Over Rs. 20 Billion Raised by Listed Companies in FY 2025-26

ISLAMABAD: Twenty-one listed companies successfully raised more than Rs. 20 billion through further issuance of capital during the fiscal year 2025-26, highlighting the increasing significance of Pakistan’s capital market in facilitating business expansion and economic growth.

According to Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, the capital mobilization was facilitated by the SECP, enabling companies to seek equity financing for a variety of purposes including acquisitions, new projects, and capacity enhancement. This financial activity underscores the capital market’s role in supporting long-term growth and development.

Companies utilized different methods to raise capital, such as issuing new shares to existing shareholders through right issues, or offering shares and securities to new investors and strategic partners. This allowed them to secure long-term funding for their growth initiatives.

Throughout the year, 10 companies from sectors such as fertilizer, steel, banking, and food raised around Rs. 16.738 billion through capital issuance methods other than right offers. Additionally, 11 other companies raised approximately Rs. 3.864 billion through right issues, providing existing shareholders an opportunity to invest further in their companies.

The successful fundraising efforts reflect improved corporate confidence and the capital market’s capacity to direct investments into productive sectors. Increased access to equity financing supports business expansion, job creation, industrial development, and sustainable economic growth.
