ISLAMABAD: Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar has called for specialized judicial education to effectively manage the evolving legal challenges posed by rapid technological advancements, shifting commercial practices, and changing societal needs. Addressing a group of Additional District and Sessions Judges at the Cross-Provincial Judicial Fellowship Programme in Islamabad, the minister highlighted the increasing importance of expertise in technology law, commercial disputes, and Alternative Dispute Resolution within the judiciary.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Law Minister reiterated the government’s dedication to strengthening judicial capacity and pursuing legal reforms. He noted ongoing initiatives in the justice sector, revealing that approximately 1,400 judges, lawyers, government officials, academics, and professionals have participated in capacity-building programs at the International Mediation and Arbitration Centre.

Azam Nazeer Tarar also informed the delegation about the government’s comprehensive review of the Code of Criminal Procedure. The review includes proposals for over one hundred amendments aimed at modernizing Pakistan’s criminal justice system and enhancing the efficiency of criminal proceedings.
