SECP Registers 4,761 New Companies in August 2026, Marking a Milestone in Business Growth

ISLAMABAD: The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) registered 4,761 new companies in August 2026, signaling continued momentum in business formalization and entrepreneurial confidence. This achievement brings the total number of registered companies in Pakistan to 311,765, highlighting the success of SECP’s facilitation and digital transformation initiatives, primarily through the eZfile portal.

According to Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, the increase in corporate registrations showcases growing trust in Pakistan’s regulatory framework. Dr. Kabir Ahmed Sidhu, Chairman of SECP, emphasized that their digital transformation efforts have played a significant role in this development. Private companies constituted the majority of new registrations, with 2,762 incorporations, followed by 1,846 Single Member Companies. Additionally, the SECP registered 113 Limited Liability Partnerships, 28 Not-for-Profit companies, and 12 other types of companies.

Punjab led the way in regional business activity, accounting for 53% of new registrations. Other regions, including Islamabad Capital Territory, Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, also saw significant incorporations. The Information Technology sector emerged as the leader in corporate growth with 872 new incorporations, followed by Trading, Services, and Construction sectors. Foreign investors remained active, with 134 international participants, notably from China, investing in newly formed companies.
